Principal's Message

Greetings Cottage Families,

Welcome to the 2026-27 school year! 

This year we will start off with our Meet and Greet night on Wednesday, August 12 from 5:15-6:30 pm.  I will be hosting a meeting for all parents in the MP room to go over important items such as:

Cottage and the Montessori Program

• School Culture
• Academic Expectations

School/Family Partnerships

• Communication
• Attendance Expectations

Parent Involvement

• PTA Opportunities
• School Site Council
• Volunteering in class or field trips

The first meeting will be in English only from 5:15-5:45 pm.  Families that do not need translation supports should come to the Family meeting first, and then go to classrooms to meet their teachers.

A second meeting at 6:00-6:30 will be conducted with translators for Farsi, Dari, and Pashto.  Families that need translation support in those languages should go to classrooms first and then come to the translated family meeting. 

Our first few days of school will be very busy during pick up time. Please let your child know if you will be picking them up on foot or in the car pick up line as it helps speed up the process. Students picked up on foot will be dismissed at the gate closest to B1. 

Please note that all kindergarten and TK students are picked up and dropped off at the kindergarten gate next to the flag pole. 

Student safety is our priority.  If driving to pick up your child they should wait at the car pick up area and not load themselves in the street.  I know the lines can be long, but the most important thing is that we get all of our children to you safely.  As such, please be careful when driving around campus and follow all traffic laws (no double parking, no U-turns, no speeding, etc).
